MacMania11 - Day 10
Strong swell for most of the morning and early afternoon. The wind is pretty strong and we’re not allowed out on deck. Someone managed to find some video of the same ship during the last cruise around the cape on the 13th December.
OMG
Huge waves crashing into the ship with the ship lurching about in the water.
Apparently, all the passengers were confined to their cabins for safety for 24 hours. We were so lucky to have good weather and the sea as still as a mill pond during our circumnavigation.
Did I tell you we got a certificate by the way!
Today was a full day at sea so a full day of MacMania sessions, and I did session 6 out of 8 this afternoon “Managing Multiple Mac,
Sat in on Sal’s “25 OSX Tips” session and Leo’s “Social Media Session”.
Invited to Dinner at the Pinnacle Restaurant by the cruise organiser along with some of the other speakers. The food on the Ship is top notch but for an extra $20 per head, you can sample fine dining at the Pinnacle.
French Onion Soup, Steak Diane and a Chocolate Volcano Cake went down very nicely, along with a few bottles of red!
The Internet has been down for most of the day so headed back to the room to catch up on emails and news. One of the traditions on many of these cruise ships is the cabin steward will leave a “towel animal” on the bed for when you return. As you can see from the photo above, sometimes it’s a bit difficult to work out just what it is.
We think it’s a crab?
Day off tomorrow when we arrive at Puerto Montt. Afternoon excursion planned so I’ll probably finish off polishing my last two sessions in the morning.
